For cyber-security reasons, many Pipeline Operators are turning to protocols with specific security standards. Emerson's Fisher ROC devices now support DNP3 as their primary protocol. In fact, the Floboss 3000, with its additional meter runs, does not support the ROC and ROC+ protocols requiring the use of DNP3 to read gas history. This session includes an overview of the Emerson solution to gas measurement within the DNP3 protocol as well as a description of AVEVA's approach to gas measurement in DNP3, with specific attention to the portions that are specific to Emerson devices and which are not.
