In 2019 NTS has deployed a program called “Long Term Project”, which was very complex and challenging, and included: a new main Operational Control Center (OCC) and BCC. The project also considered and applied best practices and techniques, modern standards and guides. A central challenge was how to convert legacy serial modbus to a multi-master design to allow parallel polling between the old and new SCADA, all while not impacting operation and control of gas transportation in the most industrialized region of Brazil.
