James McCarthy is an Associate Electrical Engineer for East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), a water utility located in Oakland, California with approximately 1.4 million East Bay customers. In 2019, he joined the SCADA Engineering Section, a team that supports industrial control systems (including multiple DCS and SCADA systems) for the Operations and Maintenance Division throughout the district. James graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has experience in multiple fields including IT systems administration, engineering operations, RF Engineering, and programing; the culmination of this experience helped with the District SCADA Thin Client deployment.
