Description

ONEOK, a leading midstream service provider, achieves operational excellence through its continual commitment to safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations.  Building upon its commitment to operational excellence, ONEOK is potentially augmenting its  SCADA system with AVEVA and CruxOCM's co-pilot technologies, to revolutionize its control room operations.

Why is ONEOK implementing these new technologies?
ONEOK is integrating CruxOCM's platform of copilots with its existing SCADA infrastructure to support its core business.  In doing so, it is providing its control room operators enhanced capabilities to perform their critical roles.  ONEOK believes that deployment of CruxOCM’s solutions will benefit its assets, operations, customers, employees, and the communities in which we operate.

How will these new technologies achieve a step-change in operational excellence?
Focusing on operational consistency, and providing our employees with the best tools, are key to driving operational excellence.  Equipping operators with a CruxOCM’s copilots, which are akin to adaptive cruise control, reduce up to 92% of the commands they need to input improving the consistency and safety of operations which results in enhanced throughput and asset integrity.
In production, the pipeBOT copilot has been found to reduce alarm occurrences by up to 65%, minimizing the risk of operational errors, and improving safety.  pipeBOT has also been found to improve asset longevity, which reduces ongoing dig costs, by decreasing pressure variations by up to 30%.  Consistently meeting contractual commitments, without unnecessary energy utilization/costs, is achieved through pipeBOT’s reduction in delivery flowrate variation by up to 66%.  The maxOPT copilot has been found to increase throughput on prorated pipeline systems by 1-7% on average.

How are we going about deploying these adaptive cruise control copilots?
The safe integration of these technologies, within ONEOK’s existing SCADA, will require following a MOC process.  In this presentation ONEOK will share highlights of the MOC process we are using to enable the safe deployment of CruxOCM’s copilot technologies.
