There is A LOT of data generated by power plant equipment. However, translating data points into time, capacity, and events and then organizing that information for easy access and effective use can be difficult. This is made even more challenging when responsibility for these tasks are a second or third “job” for site personnel. This presentation will discuss how Strategic Power Systems, Inc. uses the ORAP® data system and AVEVA’s software to automatically translate data points into actionable business information that can be used to make informed decisions at the plant. Organizing the data into logical “layers” and then applying standard models and methodologies to transform the data into useable information, including our next steps of making failure predictions will also be discussed.
