Principal Systems Engineer
David Himmelman is a Principal Systems Engineer at Genentech/Roche and has over 30 years’ experience in computer science and process automation including 8 years in the United States Navy. David has been involved in several major Aveva System Platform projects including the migration of the highest capacity biopharma manufacturing facility at Genentech/Roche from a legacy SCADA system to System Platform. He also led MES and SCADA projects at Carlsberg Brewery, Alcoa and American Sugar. More recently, David has been leading a large-scale controller migration project from legacy Siemens controllers to Modicon controllers and the implementation of Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality for manufacturing. David earned a Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University and completed a Certification Program at the MIT Sloan School Executive Program.
