This discussion will showcase how the Simulations group at Plains leverages AVEVA tools to optimize our operations and better simulate and predict future conditions. This includes the use of Pi historian data directly in our simulation models to improve accuracy, help with “what-if” designs, and help anticipate and solve problems before they arise. It also includes Pi Vision dashboards and reports used to reduce excess runtime at locations and “harvest” equipment where available for redeployment across our pipeline systems. Finally, the AVEVA platform allows us to deploy our gathering lease clocking/scheduling capabilities at scale.
