In the present work a failure analysis study in digital assets of the Automatic Data Acquisition System of the Civil Structure of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant is approached, considering Key Performance Indicators for each asset and by groups of assets of the same type, over a period of twelve months. The information obtained with the work was used by the Itaipu Maintenance team as a support in the decision-making process to request the modernization of the assessed System, aiming to improve the availability of data regarding the civil structural health of the dam. Additionally, with the monitoring implementation it was achieved an optimization up to 97% per month of the MTTR of the Field Process Devices, and it is shown that is possible to reduce up to 80% the required time for the Maintenance team to execute the preventive maintenance on the System in a year.
