When the Decision Support System was first conceived, it was a dramatic step forward that enabled corporate users safe and secure access to the same real-time and historical data as the control room. As security standards evolved, the DSS became largely out of reach for most corporate users, and instead is now mostly for the OT admin to provide static reports and data-feeds. In this workshop, AVEVA will present their plan to move the DSS functionality to the cloud, to enable more self-serve Decision Support for all users, and how it fits in against the larger context of the challenges and opportunities that a properly designed hybrid-cloud SCADA system could deliver.
