A successful implementation of the AVEVA PI System provided by AVEVA is described. The implementation was carried out in four of ISA's companies: INTERCHILE, INTERCOLOMBIA, TRANSELCA and REP Perú, with the aim of improving data management and analysis related to the energy transmission infrastructure, optimizing the network operation and maintenance processes. The project was developed in three stages. At the first stage, it was done an assessment of the main needs regarding to operational, regulatory and commercial data storage and data management. In the second stage, the selection of the AVEVA PI System platform was made followed by the architecture definition and implementation of the system, in order to fulfill the requirements collected at the first stage. In the last stage, the platform governance model was defined, and this one was very important because it gave continuity, development and sustainability to the whole system in benefits for all the companies involved.
