In the T&D space, new assets come online, and old ones get retired at rates that make it extremely difficult to create and maintain a PI AF digital twin  manually and leverage the power of AF functionality such as Analysis, Event Frames, Notifications, and element relative displays. Dominion Energy’s leadership created a goal to expedite the implementation of data projects that traditionally required considerable domain knowledge and data skills to search, plot or report the information. The idea was to create a human readable structure that combined relevant and valuable information from various systems that could be easily used by a regular user. The base solution was a custom application designed to to bring together all systems of record and build one cohesive model in AF to be securely available across the enterprise to users and applications.
