PowerRunner Follows EPRI – Literally and Literally On Day 2 of #distributech24, EPRI kicked off the Grid Modernization track with a presentation on, “… a framework for maintaining and assessing grid model quality. … where models are built from a single source of truth.” (see more via the link in the comments) Immediately following the EPRI presentation PowerRunner, AVEVA and DTE presented how the newly installed PowerRunner on PI solution at DTE is actually “managing and assessing the grid model” at DTE every day - following and implementing many of the same principles presented in the EPRI session. That is, the integration of OT & IT data from disparate data sources to automate and maintain the grid model – from meter-to-transformer-to-feeder-to-substation. As the leading research agency in the electric utility industry, EPRI works to support the development and adoption of new technologies that benefit utilities and the customers they serve. Their research on grid modeling and resulting presentation demonstrates the importance of technologies needed to deliver this solution.
