Douglas has over 30 years’ experience in the development and implementation of Advanced Process Control technologies to the process industries. During his career, he has worked for a variety of APC technology and engineering companies including Setpoint, Inc., Dynamic Matrix Control Corporation, Aspen Technology, APC Consulting, Inc., KBR and Wood Group Mustang. Douglas was the principal application developer for the DMCC/AspenTech’s Composite Linear Program used for plant-wide control and optimization. Since joining Saudi Aramco in 2014, he has participated in a number of refinery, gas plant and production facility APC projects at Saudi Aramco and Joint Venture partner facilities. More recently he has led an initiative to implement Real-Time Optimization solutions on Aramco's facilities. Douglas holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from California Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the author of several academic and industrial papers and presentations and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas in addition to being an ISA Certified Automation Professional.
