Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) is one of the largest North American midstream O&G operators. PAA leverages a portfolio of AVEVA products from the Enterprise Pipeline Management Solutions portfolio including eSCADA and the AVEVA PI System. This presentation will overview the AVEVA portfolio used at PAA with a focus on how the AVEVA PI System and PI AF/PI Vision are leveraged to support operationally focused applications and analytics. After an overview of the AVEVA portfolio and PI System’s evolution and current install, specific applications and analytics will be discussed including: advanced alarm management; leak detection; pressure cycling; pump analytics. The presentation will conclude with perspectives on best practices/lessons learned and future plans to capture addition synergy value from the AVEVA portfolio and AVEVA PI System.
