Most municipalities and water companies take an OT approach on SCADA upgrades and struggle with the contractual and regulatory issues that result. This case study captures how Cape May (NJ) County Municipal Utilities Authority (CMCMUA) took an uncommon IT path for their major (and overdue) SCADA upgrade. The MUA, via a close four way partnership with their integrator, distributor and control hardware provider, leveraged the power of AVEVA software coupled with a robust Schneider Electric control platform to deliver on their Industry 4.0 goals and set them up for future possibilities for the next 20 years.
