The North Carolina Electric Cooperatives have been increasingly adding distributed energy resources (DER) to its portfolio as part of the energy transition. In partnership with AVEVA we have been working to better manage these resources, using AVEVA CONNECT to monitor these resources and provide alarms and notifications if an abnormality is detected. We were originally using on-premise PI server and spreadsheets to monitor these sites, which was inefficient and not user-friendly. We also used very limited alarm and notification functions from PI data.
