Life Sciences Workshop:
Closing the CAPEX-to-OPEX Value Gap
The Life Sciences industry is at the start of a $500B+ investment wave in industrial capital projects unfolding over the next five years. This is a once-in-a-lifecycle opportunity—not only to deliver projects on time and on budget but to optimize value into how data, models, and systems evolve through operations.
Yet, the historical pattern has been value erosion after commissioning—digital fragmentation, duplicated models, non-interoperable data, and silos between design intent and operational reality. The challenge—and opportunity—is to close the value gap between CAPEX (where systems are born) and OPEX (where they either deliver value or accumulate technical debt).
