As an Environmental Engineer, Sergio has twenty years of environmental experience, specializing in the Petroleum Refining industry.  Working for the Marathon for over 15 years, Sergio was able to gain a very diverse background and experience managing multiple air compliance programs per Federal and State regulations.  Sergio has recently transitioned to a corporate role with the MPC Compliance Assurance Group and is leading the Digital Transformation and Compliance Management modernization initiatives for environmental groups for the MPC refining assets.  
As the Architect of the automated Environmental Compliance Management Project, Sergio has designed and is currently managing a centralized project utilizing a contracted programming workforce and coordinating with internal resources and third-party software vendors, to successfully implement the Digital Transformation of Environmental Workflows for all refineries.
