Dr Alex Gray BEng (Hons) Ph.D. CEng MIET

Starting his career as an apprentice electrician, Alex is now a chartered electrical and control systems engineer. He completed his degree in power engineering, which he followed with a Ph.D. at Brunel London. His research used AI-ML techniques to optimise a wastewater catchment with a focus on energy reduction.

In recent years, he has led large delivery programmes involving complex multi-disciplinary upgrades within the utility sector. He now works as Head of Operational Technology at Thames Water which sees him leading the team that runs the automation and data layer for the largest UK water and waste company.
