A major challenge in API production is the high cost pressure and the constantly increasing requirements regarding sustainability.  For this reason, process improvements are an essential step towards reducing costs and the carbon footprint.  API production usually generates a large amount of waste that can be recovered with suitable concepts.

In this presentation, the processing of a solvent mixture from API production will be demonstrated as an exemplary case study.  This case study highlights how APS supports the realisation of financial and ecological savings as well as the GMP process. 

• In a first step, APS is used to create and analyse a suited recycling concept
• In a second step, a plan for necessary lab experiments is designed using APS, which serves as the basis for experiments required for the GMP documents.
