Abbott Nutrition is adopting Master Data Management practices and standards of an enterprise architecture by using the PI Asset Framework as a key layer towards the journey towards the Manufacturing Unified Name Space (MUNS). This approach shifts to doing things "by template" instead of "by tag" and uses a standard approach to introduce new assets into the MUNS, enabling Abbott to save time in defining the scope of new projects and requirements for system integrators.
