The environmental management system has been expanding the use of sensors to comply with legal requirements. The legislation law also required many analyses in a daily basis, and it has been overloading the environmental team or causing delays in reports in the different level of the decision makers. The PI system and the data intelligence has been a very successful tool to solve the problem of large amount of data generated, the need of faster analysis and automatization of the reports. The project made possible a more preventive approach with alerts and identification of risky situations which it is fundamental for the environmental management system of a company.
