Beginning in 2025 Aqua initiated two major programs focused on Operational SCADA. The first was freeing SCADA data from “SCADA jail”, making it securely accessible as read-only from the business network, safely bridging the IT-OT DMZ. The second was a focused centrally led effort to standarize and scale-up deployment of SCADA across the Company’s water and wastewater systems, with a focus on systems that are geographically disbursed and require frequent operator visits. This paper will provide insight into the planning, business case justification, and current status of these two, intertwined programs.
